1 JULY 1941
A special focus will be on the approaches Malta, this month. Mines will be deployed on the western approaches to Malta, between Cartagena, Spain and Oran, Morocco. Attempts will be made to intercept the Malta relief convoys directly.
Our group is currently based out of La Spezia, Italia. Some boats and crews may be assigned to BETASOM, at Bordeaux, France. Though stationed in Bordeaux and tactically coordinating with the Kriegsmarine, those submarines will remain under operational command of Submarine Division 18.
